This video goes over the different changes I made to a deck that started as a standard RDW. The final deck contains a lot of cards designed to deal with cards/decks that I commonly played in local tournaments. I played this deck up until the release of Conflux. Ok, the things you must look for are: threats, removal, card advantage or card draw, synergy, and lastly a deck focus (a game plan on how to win your games).
Cards that screamed "play me" are [card]Martial Coup[/card] and [card]Caldera Hellion[/card]: both board sweepers and very powerful. [card]Martial Coup [/card]was 1 "for sure" card without a doubt.

I really think the decks that will be in the new standard after Lorwyn block leaves will mean new staples and new lands will be chase rares and the unknown m10 land are making me sit at the edge of my seat....but till then I think 5cc will be the control deck that will most be played. It can adapt its mana base to accomadate for any card and I think there is one that makes the red deck match up better than the mirror and that's Thought Hemorrhage: it is like [card]Blightning[/card] on steroids. It gets rid of the play set of whatever your deck can't deal with like Demigod and [card]Revillark[/card] or in a black/red deck it can get ride of [card]Stillmoon Cavalier[/card] or the [card]Glorious Anthem[/card] to make black white tokens cry.... it's a card that makes topdecking worth nothing if they can't draw an answer.

I hope you all enjoy my "deck tech" with my Dark Bant list. As I mention in the video, I piloted this to a 4-2 in a regionals, which earned me 10th, 1 match win away from qualifying for nationals. in the regionals, I went 0-1 against faeries, 1-0 against blightning, 1-0 against planeswalker control, and 2-1 against 5CC.

I didn't have physical copies of the deck, so I suggest that as you watch the video you scroll through the decklist and as you hover your mouse over a card it'll be shown next to the video, so you can see the cards I will be talking about. I go in the order of the deck straight down, and there is no sideboard because I haven't had time to make one and it's more metagame dependent so yeah.

I like your thoughts about new players getting ripped off. It happens all too often.
However, the video made it very hard to hear your thoughts. They probably be easier to understand in an article.
i obviously don't need to talk too much about the technical difficulties, but i understand what your constraints are. i feel the difficulties sort of overshadow what you are saying, and it is very hard to understand you. from what i could hear, the video seemed good though.
Technical difficulties are always a pain. However it was interesting to hear and you certainly get credit for carrying your thoughts all the way through. I totally hear ya about the prices and sympathize with the concept of making a lot of stuff you use staples for different formats.
I think the tech hurts your message. I hope to see you try again.
hey guys thanks for the feed back and the last bit was like a pun at myself because my friend was mad because we acctually made the island i was using to put the cards on... also i was having troble with the uploading the video so for fun we just slapped on the last minute it took offly long for a short video and it was about 2 am when we finished and we both had work the next day... i hope you guys enjoyed it and i have a second video in the works right know
New players always get ripped off. Here in Jamestown Ny we have a comic book shop that sells magic and the guy that owns the shop sometimes sells cards individually. He says he doesnt like to sell them like that because he doesnt know magic, but that is a crock of bs! He had a planswalker that was running online for $6, but he insisted to me that they were $10 to buy, but I had to buy all three of them to get just the one I needed. Not to mention I saw his store sticker he had on the actual card and it had a price of $6.50 on it. WTF man. Not only that he sells his packs of cards for $4.25 a pack. Now if I go a few miles out of my way the next card shop I found sells them for $2.79 a pack. What a rip off. Al's little shop of crap shouldnt be selling magic if hes going to play all of us for fools. We arent dumb just some of us dont have cars to get to the next shop over. Im in the process of trying to fix that for my magic playing friends. Im so tired of him doing this to me and all of the others that value magic as a really awesome game to play. You are on the money about that my friend....
i pay 3.30 to 3.99 for packs and just look around for a better shop with better players that you like luckly for me i found players that played for ever and are nice and like to play for casual.....
but from time to time i go to this place that every one is cut throat but if i want to get ready for a big event i go there and every one knows how to draft very well so the transition was good because i usually place ok n limited
o now i get it the sbvideoaccount is you sacballa why do you want to accounts well try harder and if you make money buy a camcorder
