The deck is based of Epic experiment. Typically, you want to cast it for at least 9 so you can get a Temporal Mastery out of it. Psychic spiral is the win condition, and Reforge the Soul helps with it. There are only 2 counterspells in standard, both of which aren't great, so it's the perfect time for a big X spell to see play.
The sideboard for the most part is a plan B in case your opponent is playing an extremely aggressive deck, or has hate for epic experiment.
