A simple combo green black spicer up.

EVERY ONES talking about Doran and Bant slammers.

EVERY ONES talking double strike.

Turn 14 damage.

La-ti-DA.

What about the quick draw, turn 3, 99/99 creature?

Some may know of it.

Tap a turn 2 dovoted druid, play the Quilspike.

Untap as normal, and tap it again for a green mana

Hmm....untap for a -1/-1?

Look its QUILLSPIKE he can eat a -1/-1 for a.......UH......GREEN MANA!

Lookie...I've done it again +6/+6

Uh oh.....I can do it over and over and over and over......

It may be simple and YEAH Terminates....and Counter magic.....

PLETFFFTTT.

Even in meta game, check the time for a Flourishing Defenses?

W00t! Every tap you get an elf!

99 elves!

Any questions?

Yeah, on MTGO last night I built a Quillspike combo deck, turn 2 Devoted Druid, turn 3 Quillspike, turn 4 Terror/Terror to clear the way and swing, pump for lethal and we're done.

Honestly, it is really easy to get around, but I mean...throw some Soul's Fire in there and laugh when they Terminate it. Pump it over 1000 and Mercy Killing it for 1000 elves. There are so many stupid things you can do, and even though it probably won't win you too many tournaments, it will be so much fun!

Casual players have been loving this combo since quillspike was released. And yes it's easy to disrupt, but in truth any combo has flaws.

And I like it to0, not because it's neccessarily super good (though it's not bad) but because it's straightforward and honest, it doesn't abuse obscure rulings and triggers like so many combos.

And that makes it more accessible to more players.

I've never been a big fan of combo's like this one myself, I don't mind the vintage "chain-reaction" combos where a bunch of different cards react with each other to win the game, like Charbelcher, but this was so surprising to me that they printed this combo in the same block.

It's always fun to see people play this casually in multiplayer, and after they get the pleasure of killing the one guy who is tapped out or the guy with no creatures, everyone lets loose on the combo and rips it to shreds (which is so easy.)

Fun though! I just hope they don't print things like this too often, not that they particularly did it on purpose or anything..
