So I see that you have lots of older cards in here and you have several ways to make tokens but what exactly does the deck do?
Also do you really have enough Instants to have a full set of Scepters in there? Could you elaborate a bit on the win conditions or combos?
That looks about right. The combo would be necro and ivory tower as well as confinement. drop the big avatar and hit with the tirdent or cloak it. and the angel is around to work with the final fortune. Great defense.
The Tower with Necro doesn't add up. Sure it helps balance out the life loss but I just don't see the win condition. This deck could stall and give you a handful of cards for quite some time but what do you do to finish it off?
Have you never read how old school tournaments were won? They use to use the exact same combo of necro and Tower. With the solitary confinement you can not be touched. so you sit and wait. You don't have to draw. so give yourself two turns and you have a lot of life. Read the cards serra avatar and wispersilk cloak, and surestrike trident. It is not that difficult to figure out massive direct damage kills someone. Or worst case scenario use a lot of pests sacked to the pit and the disciple does the rest.
The tower with the necro and library add up to a lot. It gives me a good 20+ life a turn at times. i have been able to gain over 30 life a turn and then double my life every turn with this deck. and the tokens are created so that I can skull clamp them for more cards so that I dont have to use my life total. and i have a set of the scepters for convenience. Is this deck really that tough to figure out? then you have the avatar and a cloak or a trident... ether way you look at it, its a lot of life to be lost by my opponent. or and you add confinement in the mix and I cant be touched... along with the watcher who make it so my artifacts and enchantments cant be touched... also I believe the plains walker makes it so that happens to. hmm... oh also if it comes down to it I can take as many turns as I want with the final fortune on a scepter and a platinum in play... really if you just look at the cards its not so hard to find a couple winning conditions to this deck. I cant tell you how many games ive won with this deck before plains walkers even existed. So please look at the cards closer. thank you. skth00
I looked at your deck closely but since I had already left the game (because of things such as "Phasing" sucking the fun out) before many of these cards were even printed I wasn't familiar with exactly where you were trying to go with the deck. I do see how it could have been decent then but I also see it's many flaws now, which is why I didn't understand the point to it.
Also congratulations on winning before there were Planeswalkers (I think a "Plains Walker" can attack unblocked if your opponent controls a Plains...). I find it odd that you chose to point out that historical fact, and yet your deck also runs two Planeswalkers. Another reason I found it a bit difficult to take the deck to seriously is because of the fact that it's built of 64 cards, making each draw weaker by having it past it's minimum as most tournament grade decks should be.
Thank you for elaborating and I see your combos in the deck now, however I find your reply quite lacking in tact. Thanks anyhow.
Chad your relpy is trying to be funny but it falls short very badly. Just admit you did not understand the cards or the deck. some decks are just for fun and they work just fine. You are very arrogant. On a side note phasing came after antiquities and iceage so yet again you are full of it. If you said banding okay then.
LoL. And the Anonymous elitist strikes again. ;)
xoxo
Lol, thank you anonymous... and chad you are a bit arrogant. This deck is just for fun and sitting around with friends and playing. oh gosh its 4 cards over 60... what ever should i do.... really is it a big deal? its for fun... get over yourself and what you think you know and all that. Your opinion doesn't matter to much to me and I feel I am wasting my breath even saying this. so if you have something truly useful to say , like maybe some real suggestions rather then just disliking and bickering about my deck and how you didn't understand it and now you get it completely and think it is flawed , let me know... Until then have a nice day.
Bickering no? Curious as to how it worked? Yes, and yet somehow I came across as the arrogant one. I suppose if my habits of sticking to a regular system of building decks to particular standards, whether for casual or competitive play, makes me arrogant, then I am certainly a real prick. And because I accept this huge flaw about myself, I'll lose no sleep to knowing that I can't get over it.
In the future I'll let others know that sharing of opinions and questioning the consistency of a deck is an inconsiderate thing to do. I'll be sure and pass that along to everyone that has appreciated my advice. Since some decks are apparently beyond my narrow scope of knowledge and I can offer nothing to them I'll be sure to keep my opinions to myself. Good day to you as well sir.
hmmm....seems a little off putting there. maybe aside from the actual event. questioning is one thing and basically saying something sucks, though in a round about way, are completely different things. first you didnt know how the deck worked, then you once some one told you, you acted like it was the worst thing ever. You have never seen it run how would you really know. then you decided it would be a good idea to be perhaps a little sarcastic in your words while I was just explaining. That comes across as arrogant. the questioning did not. It was the reply to the reply that seemed that way. Maybe a little immature at the least. Then you act like you are completely right and justified when really we both have good and bad point. I think in all honesty it really is bickering. I'm not claiming to try to be witty or the like. I build decks and I play them. If they seem flawed to you, maybe that's because you arnt open to experimenting with different ideas in decks. This may seem odd to you since you said you stick to the way you do things. As for me though,I like to be random some times.
