Calculated Risk: Pre-emptive Decision Making

Practice In Theory

In this episode of Practice in Theory we look at a specific, simple example in which you can simply choose to block or not to block an opponent's creature. Hello everybody and welcome to the first episode of what I plan to be a miniseries. On Practice in Theory we will discuss a single card or strategy and its mathematical interactions and base. This week, Cunning Sparkmage.

Facts About This Episode And Future Ones

  • I'm still working on a style, the main focus is the mechanic/mathematic nature, however I'm not sure what facts to mention or how to persuade people to trust in a strategy.
  • I realize that a hypothetical card is less preferable to a real strategy, I'll cover more formal mechanic strategies in later episodes.
  • The show needs to be under three minutes for me to effectively finish with time to do the show.
  • I can only make an episode of Practice in Theory every other week or less due to time restrictions.

Questions

  • What do you think of the background? Should I use it for The Proffessors instead and find a different one for Practice in Theory?
  • What do you think of the show's concept? This is a Spike/Melvin tuned show, would you want to see a Timmy/Johnny/Vorthos show in the future?
  • What do you think of the card entrance and lack of particles?
