Hey everyone,
This week, I go over more of the Standard and Extended decks. In Standard, I talk about Zvi Mowshowitz's Mythic, Standard Dredge, an U/W Control update, and I discuss Grixis Control for Extended.

post the dredge deck?
Glad you like the Grixis deck so far. Hopefully it pans out in playtesting for you. :)
You didn't mention the Blood Moons, but those are also a crucial part of the deck. A quick Blood Moon locks several decks out of the game. Blood Moon can just steal games early as turn two.
And also, one critique, for what it's worth, is that it's usually better to let their Scapeshift resolve if they go for it on 7, then Wrecking Ball one of their Mountains with Valakut's trigger on the stack. By doing so in thins their deck of six mountains, making it difficult for them to go off again.
Happy testing!

Dredge is gonna be hard to play b/c the current meta game already runs card on the side that can deal with it. U/W has tectonic edge and spreading seas. Jund can sideboard goblin ruinblaster to deal with the crypt. Naya can side in bojuku bog to take out the graveyard since it's already sided for it's mirror match. I personally don't think standard dredge is a good choice, although it will win games when the combo pops (like any other combo deck). If you're gonna play this, I prefer R/B aggro with Ad Nauseam and death's shadow. Just a thought, what do you guys think.
@Gavin: I forgot about Valakut's "intervening if" clause that makes that possible. also should definitely have mentioned blood moons, don't know what i was thinking. really love the deck, and i WANT to make it work :)
The Mythic bants seems great; but without any other spells like negate, bant charm or path to exile can it really be that competitve? (apart from its results gotten from the PTQ)
I am curious as to the single liliana in the grixis control deck. 5 mana to discard a card or to fetch (hopefully) twice seems way overcosted. I can see the allure of repeated discard if you resolve her and she hangs around, but cards in hand is one of the weapons you have against control so I was wondering why. I mean I like her storyline and if you can resolve her ultimate it is amazing with all your removal but especially if you're playing a boros/naya with night of souls' betrayal out you;ve effectively wasted a slot unless you bounce your own enchantment so you can activate her and win. It seems like she may be a sideboard option however but I don't see a huge point in her maindeck. Clarification anyone?
@efrate: in gavin's article he mentioned he would probabaly switch the liliana for another compulsive research, but i just posted his original list here
