Hellcarver Demon

1st look - WHAT gay demon is that? 6/6 for 3BBB and sac all Perms and discard your hand? then top 6 cards you play for free? and then do u still dare to attack again? Lol.

I'm not a Big magic strategist but how does it work again? top 6 cards = 1 x Progentius, 1 x Darksteel Colo, 1 x Cruel ultimun, 1 x Nicol Bolas, 1 x Iona, Shield of Emeria and 1 x Baneslayer angel? What in the world u need to trigger such event to happen?

A hole lot of luck would be needed to pull something off like that but u would be screwed if you were an opponet and that happened to you. By my callculations its 1 out of 95400 so its pretty high but correct me if im wrong on the calculations.

Jace and ponder help this a bit, but we need more topdeck stacking to make this viable.  Maybe in a weird casual vintage game where you can vampiric tutor right before you attack to get something good, but if you can resolve a demon let alone a tutor why do you need anything else?

I would let my opponent hit me with this once before I Pathed it.  It destroys all his lands.  Try and recover from that especially when you can't play any land cards that were exiled.  This card is truly worthless.  It can't even stop the Baneslayer.

The only thing that's worth is "Wow, 5 Mythic Rare cards in one Booster box and i hope to get All is Dust in my last Mythic Rare slot - Then crack open its the Hellcarver Demon in your last Mythic Rare slot !#$#%$^^&%!!!" That's your "worth" Lol

I pre-ordered this card. I'm going to try to make it work. Probobly wind up trading it on mtg. Also preordered 2x Nirkana's and Ulamog, the Infanite

I'll polymorph into it and the traumatize,mindfuneral,treasurehunt,hedron crab,and then hellcarver you again and repeat!

meaning you get rid of all your lands, hope for instants/sorceries, and then if you damage again that crab no longer exists so 3 or 4 lands coming in don't help anything, and all that land thats coming into play doesn't do any good unless you have a landfall critter in the same 6 cards as those land.  Also it cannot attack until turn 7 at which point you opponent has stabalized and at that point you've reset yourself, they have board control and you have a 6/6 that will get pathed/paralyzing grasped, journeyed, o-rings, or best of all, bounced.  Look its in you hand, you now have nothing and no threat and no way to cast it for 7 more turn.  You wanna scoop now or play it out?

I'm totally with you on this efrate.  One Into the Roil and you are history, game lost.   There is only one way to make this card work and thats by not playing it.

if they into the roils it you don't have to sac any of your stuff it has to actually deal combat damage that being said the potential to run the board in one card with put out a fat creature that has say,take an extra turn,make your opponent sac 6, and can't be hit by anything but colorless spells the card has potential....not saying its the best card ever but there is some playability in standard somewhere
