They aren't exactly useless, but they're uses are pretty narrow. Still it's potential mana accel for colorless...

Urza's mine, tower and such are a better choice!

@mike: Yes and no. If you can search for lands, then urzatron is better, but if your relying on the draw these are more consistent since you don't need 3 specific lands to generate tons of mana. 3 powerplants=3 mana. 3 locus'=9 mana.

I use posts in a green ramp into big guys, fetching with reap and sow makes them decent and also a bit easier becasue 2 posts = 4 colorless, and 2 of uzras = 2 mana.  All 3 of uzras= 7 mana.  And must have 3 different ones.  3 posts = 9 mana.  Now you can get more mana eventually but having 2 towers and 1 of each other one nets you 3 + 3 +2 +2 = 10 mana, 4 posts = 16 mana.  You need 5 uzras lands 3x tower + mine + tower = 3 +3 +3 +2 +2 = 13 mana.  with 4 towers and 1 of each other one for a total of 6 lands only then do you get more mana than post.  The question is are these going to be reprinted in ROE?  If thats the case thats a potential ermakul on turn 5 hardcasted which is sick.  The only advantage urzas has over cloud posts is they don't CITPT.  Or if you need more than 16 colorless a turn and start getting the rest of the the set with 6 or 7 then they give you more mana but still posts seems a more viable option.

well if there reprinted that would be good for eldrazi and I'll finally use mine. Now if they were to make other "Locus" then the excel would be great for colorless!

I guess if you can get three or four of them into play, then each one will give you three or four colorless mana each which is nice.  If you have one already in play untapped, putting another one into play tapped will still net you one mana.  When we see more locus is when this card is gonna get out of hand.  Still though, get four of these in play with a mountain to really Banefire your opponent.  Also getting the Eldrazi onto the battlefield will be alot easier with these lands.

Vesuva anyone? Cloudposts 5-8 make these way better than Urzatron lands, especially if you can find specific lands.
